What Zuper is

Zuper is a flexible field service management platform with custom workflows, forms, and automation rules, aimed at teams whose process does not fit a packaged product. Scheduling, dispatch, inventory, customer portal, and analytics are all there, and the API and integration library are better than average for the price.

Best for

Operations teams with an unusual workflow and someone willing to configure it

Watch out

Flexibility means setup work. Without an internal owner it tends to end up half-configured and half-used.

What it does well

  • Deeply configurable workflows and forms
  • Good API and integration coverage
  • Built-in customer self-service portal
  • Workforce management features beyond dispatch

The AI, specifically

AI-assisted scheduling recommendations and automated job summaries.

We name what the AI actually does rather than repeating the word, because in this market it covers everything from a genuine voice agent to a template that fills in a customer name.

Integrates with

QuickBooks · Xero · Salesforce · Slack · Zapier

Integration lists change often and "integrates" can mean anything from a real two-way sync to a one-way push through Zapier. Ask the vendor which fields move, in which direction, and how often.

Before you commit

  • Run one real job end to end during the trial — quote, schedule, invoice, payment. Demos hide friction; a real job does not.
  • Check the mobile app on your own phone, outdoors, on cell data. That is where your crew will actually use it.
  • Confirm the accounting sync is two-way and that it maps to the way your bookkeeper already works.
  • Ask what happens to your data if you leave. Export formats matter more than you think on day 400.
  • Price it at the headcount you expect in 18 months, not today — per-user pricing is where budgets break.

How to judge it in a trial

Run one real job through it end to end — not the demo data. Quote it, schedule it, do it, invoice it, take the payment. Then ask the only question that matters on day 400: did the people who have to use this every day find it faster than what they do now? Friction you notice in week one compounds forever, and tool-hopping costs more than any feature gap.
